Hi !
Marble -> Calcium Carbonate -> CaCO₃
Hydrochloric acid -> HCl
Acids reacts with metal carbonates to form salt,water, and carbon dioxide gas.
Acid + Metal carbonate -> Salt + H₂O + CO₂
HCl + CaCO₃ ----> CaCl₂ + H₂O + CO₂
The gas evolved when passes through lime water or Ca(OH)₂ , turns it milky , due to the formation of calcium carbonate(CaCO₃)
Ca(OH)₂ + CO₂ ------> CaCO₃ + H₂O
