A student estimated a mass to be 250g, but upon carefully measuring it, found the actual mass to be 240g. What is the percent error?

The actual mass is 240g but 250g was measured so the error was 10g in a mass of 240g so the % error is 10x100/240 = 4.1666 or 4.2% rounding up.
