The mirror here is concave mirror because only concave mirror can form a sharp image on a screen. Both plane and convex mirror form virtual image which can not be obtained on screen.
Since the image is sharp, it's made on focus. When object is at infinity, the image is formed at focus. Infinity here means that object is very very far from the mirror. The image is formed at focus, so the screen must be kept at focus to obtain the image. Hence, the distance between screen and mirror is equal to the focal length of the mirror.
