Conduction of electricity in rain water:
- Distilled water is water with no salts in it where rain water contain salt in it. When there is no salt, there is no electricity flowing through it.
- Salt is nothing but sodium chloride which has ionic bond.
- When salt gets dissolved in water, the sodium chloride ionizes into sodium (positive) ions and chloride (negative) ions.
- The ions freely flow through water and conducts electricity.
- When the salinity of water increases then the electricity flowing through the wire increases.
