A student has to measure the length of his book. The zero markings on the scale are worn out and not visible clearly. How should he use the scale to get the correct length of the book?

If it is not visible then change the reference point of 0 with another number.

Keep your scale on marking 1cm and if the length of the book 15cm .

The actual length is 14cm

i.e 15 - 1 = 14cm
