Given :

  • P@ss Percentage of student = 40 %
  • No. of marks scored by student = 30 marks
  • Student was failed by 50 marks

To find :

  • P@ss mark = Marks scored + Marks by which student failed
  • P@ss mark = 30 + 50 = 80

★ P@ss mark in the test for the student is 80 marks ★

  • According to the question :
  • 40 % of x = 80
  • x is Maximum marks for the test
  • ⁴⁰⁄₁₀₀ × x = 80
  • ⅖ × x= 80
  • x = 80 × ⁵⁄₂
  • x = 200

Maximum marks for the test is 200 marks ★

★ Or the marks for which the test is conducted ★
