A student is provided with the voltmeters of following specification to use in an experiment for verifying Ohm's law . Which one should be selected and why ?
Voltmeter V1 : least count = 0.5V
Range = 0-5 V
Voltmeter V2 : least count = 0.05V
Range = 0-10V

The student should use Voltmeter V2 having least count = 0.05V  and Range = 0-10V, because it has high range and low least count. so the full scale error percentage will be less in voltmeter V2.

error % in V2 in full scale = 0.05/10  x 100 = 0.5%

error % in V1 in full scale = 0.5/5   x  100 = 10 %

Hence the student should use voltmeter V2.
