Given : A student is training for the track team during the first three months of the year by running for 30 minutes every day, while averaging 5 miles each day

To Find : the graph that correctly shows the total miles ran during the time of his training program

Solution:

30 minutes every day = 30/60 = 1/2 hr every day

averaging 5 miles each day.

=> 5 mile  /(1/2) hr  =   10 Miles/hr

Man run on average = 10 miles hr

Three months = 3 * 30 = 90 days

= 90 x (1/2) hr

= 45 hr

Total Distance = 45 x 10  = 450 miles

45 hr  , 450 miles  .

Graph is attached.

Generally The independent value is plotted along the x- axis ( Time in Hours ) and the dependent variable is plotted  along the y-axis ( Distance Miles ).
