The answers are as follows:

  • This phenomena is known as the twinkling effect of stars in which sometimes a star appears to be brighter while it appears fainter the other time.
  • Any two factors that are responsible for this phenomena are: The first one is the changing position of the earth and the stars and the second one is the multiple refraction faced by the light rays coming from the stars at different angles because of the Earth's atmosphere.
  • The twinkling phenomena is due to refraction by the atmosphere and the diagram is attached with the answer.
