Observation :

1. Binary fission in Amoeba shows division of nucleus by stretching.

2. Nucleus breaks into two nuclei slowly and cytoplasm also divides (cytokinesis).

3. Two small daughter cells (Amoebae) are formed at the end.

Answer:

During binary fission, a parent cell divides into two similar individuals.

1- A mature amoeba is a large cell. During binary fission, its nucleus elongates and divides into two parts.

2- The division of the nucleus is followed by the division of cytoplasm, each carrying a part of the nucleus.

3- Two new amoebae are formed in irregular shapes.

4- Identity of the parent cell is lost.
