a student performs an experiment on tracing the path of a Ray of light passing through a rectangular glass slab for different values of angle of incidence. he fixes Pins p3 and P4 while looking through the phase DC so that their feet are in line with the images of the feet of the pins P1 and P2 ?for better result,
1)what should be the image of angle of incidence?
2)what should be the distance between the feet of the two pins?

1. The image of the angle of incidence will be at the same line of the two pin if they are placed on the  refractive Ray

Explanation:

2. The distance between the two feet of the pin will be almost equal. This is relevant because until and unless there is a on the incident ray of the refracted ray there is no matter how much the distance between the two pin their final image will be on the other two pin

Concave lens of small focal length bend the light through the focus and causes higher deviation

Explanation:

  • The focal length is inversely proportional to the deviation of the path of the light which is incident on the concave lens. As a result of this if there is less focal length then there is more amount of deviation of light and as a result of this the overall deviation angle is more.

  • This occurs because the focal length when it is incident parallel to the principal axis
