A student react NaCl with H2 So4 solution he obtains a gas and need to test its nature he test it with dry Litmus Paper and draw his conclusion​

when we reat Nacl with H2So4 and we obtain gas .And when we not test the nature of gas with dry litmus paper bcz litmus paper show test of gas if it litmus paper is wet ..

NaCl+H2SO4-------> NaHSO4+HCl

The gas obtained is HCl (Hydrochloric acid).

HCl turns moist blue litmus paper red. The gas is acidic in nature.

the gas can be confirmed that it is HCl only -- When the gas is passed is passed through silver nitrate solution a white precipitate of silver chloride is formed.

so we can identify that it is HCl gas only.

if the student test the gas with dry litmus paper he will see no reaction taking place because we always use moist litmus paper for testing any reaction or gas.

Note: we always use moist paper for testing any gas.
