This is a simple question on percentages.

We need to get the mass of water absorbed.

From the above information we can get the mass of water absorbed.

Mass of the raisin = 8g

New mass after water has been absorbed = 13g

Mass of water = mass of raisin after absorbing water - mass of raisin before

This is given by :

Mass of water = 13 - 8 = 5g

Percentage mass of water is as follows :

5/8 × 100% = 62.5%
