Let the maximum marks be x
When he failed by 32 runs
Passing marks=36% of x+32
=9x/25+32----------(1)
Also when he passed by extra 24 marks
Passing marks=43%of x-24
=43x/100-24-------------(2)
From one and two
36x/100+32=43x/100-24
43x/100-36x/100=32+24
7x/100=56
x=800
