- The reason behind the change in the size if apricots is osmosis through a semj permeable membrane in them.
- The sugar solution is hypertonic and that's why it forces the water from the apricots to come out and reduces its size.
- While in the case of plain water, the solution is hypotonic so water gets inside the apricots and increases their size.
