a student want to project the image of a candle flame on a screen 80cm in front of a mirror by keeping the candle flame at a distance of 20cm from its place
1. which type of mirrorshould he use
2. find the magnification of the image produced
3.draw a ray diagram to show the image formation in this case and not the distance between object and its image

 <b ><font color ="pink" >

a)The type of the mirror is Concave mirror.

b) Linear Magnification of the image produces (m) = v/u

u = -20 cm

v = 80 cm

m = v/u = 80/-20 = - 4

c)The distance b/w the object and the mirror is 20 cm. Ray diagram - object between F and C.

Answer:

1)The type of mirror that should be used is concave mirror .

2)

u =  - 20cm \\ v = 80cm \\ m =  \frac{v}{u}  \\  =   - \frac{80}{20}  \\  =  - 4 \\

so magnification=-4

3)Distance is 20 cm and you should draw a ray diagram between F and C..

Hope it helps you
