A mixture of hydrogen and sulphur dioxide gas can be separated using a method of diffusion.

The density of hydrogen is less than that of sulphur dioxide and hence, according to Graham's law of diffusion, its rate of diffusion will be larger than that of sulphur dioxide. Hence using the method of diffusion, hydrogen gas can be collected due to its higher rate of diffusion leaving sulphur dioxide behind
