Answer:

25km/hr

Step-by-step explanation:

20 km/hr - ⇒ one way

30km/hr - ⇒ one way

Average speed = speed 1 + speed 2/ 2

                          = (20 + 30) / 2

                          = 50 / 2

                          = 25 km/hr

EXPLANATION.

  • GIVEN

student while going in a school bus observe

the average speed = 20 km/hr.

on his way trip along the same way the average

speed = 30 km/hr.

What is the average speed of the bus

in the entire journey.

According to the question,

Let we assume that student travel = x km

Therefore,

=> Distance = Speed X Time

When it's average speed = 20 km/hr

=> x = V1 X T1 = 20 X T1

=> T1 = x / 20

When its average speed = 30 km/hr

=> x = V2 X T2 = 30 X T2

=> T2 = x / 30

Average speed = Total distance / total time

 =  >  \:  \:  \bold{\frac{x + x}{ \frac{x}{ v_{1}  } +  \frac{x}{ v_{2} }  }}

  =  >  \:  \:  \bold{\frac{2x}{ \frac{x}{20} +  \frac{x}{30}  }}

=> 24 km/hr

Therefore,

Average speed of the bus in entire

journey = 24 km/hr.
