Let m mass of the substance overflow from a displacement vessel.
given,
density of substance = 4g/cm³
density of turpentine = 0.8 g/cm³
mass of turpentine = 60g

we know formula of displacement vessel.
displacement = light weight + dead weight
if displacement = 0
then, light weight = dead weight
so, mass of substance = mass of turpentine
4 × m = 0.8 × 60
m = 12g

hence, weight of substance is 12g.

Thanks , For Your Question ...

=) Given ,
Density of substance = 4g/cm^3

Density of turpentine = 0.8 g/cm^3

Mass of turpentine = 60g

We know ,
Displacement = Light weight + Dead weight

If we assume displacement = 0

Then , light weight = dead weight
Now , Mass of substance = Mass of turpentine

Putting the values ...

=) 4 × m = 0.8 × 60
=) m = 12g (ans.)

Hence, Mass of substance is 12g .
