can cause hardness in water.
- The hardness in water caused by calcium chloride is called permanent hardness. It can't be removed by boiling. Some special compounds like zeolites, borax etc forms a complex with the Ca ion and remove the hardness of the water.
- NaCl dissolves in water and forms saltwater.
- Ammonium chloride can not create hardness in water.
