Well, the substance X Is zinc metal since it is used to galvanise iron metal to protect it from Rusting

Also, The blue solution of reddish brown metal is Copper Sulphate.

Now, when zinc is added to copper sulphate it displaces copper from it's Sulphate and forms zinc sulphate which is colourless and hence we say that the colour fades away and reddish brown deposit of copper metal sediments down.
