Total sum is 3000 rupees

Total no of prizes is 63

Then x+y=63 (equation 1)

100x+25y=3000 (equation2)

By simplifying 2 equation we get

4x+y=120. (equation 3)

Subtract equation 1 from equation 3

4x+y-x-y=120-63

3x=57

x=19

put x=19 in equation 1

19+y=63

y=63-19=44

No of prizes of rs 100 =19

No of prizes of rs 25= 44

Answer:

100rs prizes = 19

25rs prizes. = 44

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of prizes of cost 100rs be x

The number of prizes of cost 25 rs be y

By the sum

= x + y = 63

= y = 63 - x

= 100x + 25y = 3000

= 4x + y = 120

= y = 120 - 4x

= 63 - x = 120 - 4x

= 4x - x = 120 - 63

= 3x = 57

= x = 57/3

= x = 19

= y = 63 - x = 63 - 19

= 44

The no.of prizes of cost 100rs = 19

The no.of prizes of cost 25 rs = 44
