Given : A sum of money is divided in the ratio 3 : 5 .

Let ratio coefficient = x

So,

Our parts = 3 x and 5 x

Also given , If the larger part is Rs .315 , So

5x = 315

x = 63

So,

Smaller part = 3x = 3 ( 63 ) = 189 ( Ans )
