Given : A sum of money is divided in the ratio 4:3. The largest part is Rs 72.

Let the smallest part be x.

According to the question,

=> 4/3 = 72/x

=> 4 × x = 72 × 3

=> x = (72 × 3)/4 = 54

Hence,

The smallest part = Rs 54
