Let there be X notes of Rs 10.
Total number of notes = 50.
∴ Number of notes of Rs 20 = (50 – x)
Total sum of money = Rs 800
∴ 10x+ 20 (50 – x) = 800
⇒ 10x+ 1000 – 20x = 800
⇒– 10x = 800 – 1000
⇒ – 10x= – 200
⇒x= 20
∴ 50 – x = 50 – 20= 30
So, there are 20 notes of Rs 10 and 30 notes of Rs 20.

Answer:

No. of notes of Rs.10 is 20 and no. of notes of Rs.20 is 30

Step-by-step explanation:

let x be the no. of notes of Rs.10

We are given that the total number of notes be 50

So, no. of notes of Rs.20 = 50-x

Value of x notes of Rs.10 = 10x

Values of (50-x) notes of Rs.20 = 20(50-x)

Now we are given that the total sum of money is Rs.800

So, 10x+20(50-x) =800

10x+1000-20x =800

1000-10x =800

200=10x

x=20

So, no. of notes of Rs.10 is 20

No. of notes of Rs. 20 = 50-x =50-20 = 30

Hence no. of notes of Rs.10 is 20 and no. of notes of Rs.20 is 30
