Solution

Given :-

  • sum of two digits is 9
  • difference is 3

Find :-

  • These Number

Explanation

Let,

  • Unit Place Number be = x
  • Second place Number be = y

A/C to question,

(sum of two digits is 9)

==> x + y = 9 ___________(1)

Again,

(difference is 3 )

==> x - y = 3 ___________(2)

Add equ(1) & equ(2)

==> 2x = 9 + 3

==> 2x = 12

==> x = 12/2

==> x = 6

Keep Value of x in equ(1)

==> y + 6 = 9

==> y = 9 - 6

==> y = 3

Hence

  • These Number will be = yx = 36

  • But it's not clearly mentioned that which place (Tens place or Unit place) is greater of the two. So, Difference should be ± 3 and the number should be 36 Or, 63

Given ,

A sum of two numbers is 9 and the difference is 3

Let , the two numbers be " x " and " y "

According to the question ,

x + y = 9 --- (i)

And

x - y = 3 --- (ii)

Add eq (i) and eq (ii) , we get

2x = 12

x = 12/2

x = 6

Put x = 6 in eq (i) , we get

6 + y = 9

y = 3

 \therefore The two numbers are 6 and 3
