Solution:-
Let the final rupees is 'n' and initial before tax is 'x' Rs.
So according to the question
x + (4/100)x = n
x + (1/25)x = n
(25x + x)25 = n
26x/25 = n
x = 25n/26
Now, n must be a factor of 26 which are 1, 2, 13 and 26. For x to be terminating decimal n can be 13 or 26. 13 is smaller.
n = 13 Answer

Let the initial before tax addition be x Rs
Given,
n is the final rupees
x+4/100x = n
x+1/25x = n
25x+x/25 = n
26x/25 = n
x=25/26n
Now n must be a factor of 26 which are 1,2,13,26.For x to be terminating decimal n can be 13 or 26.13 is smaller
So n=Rs 13
