A super fast train overtakes a passenger train in 20 seconds.The speed of the faster train is 72kmph and speed of the slower train is 27kmph.If the length of the faster train is 100m,find the length of the slower train.

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

the relative speed of trains is 72 - 27 = 45kmph = 12.5 m/s

the distance the super fast train covers = 100 + the length of the passenger train (x)

time taken to cross = 20 sec

distance = speed × time

100 + x = 12.5 × 20

100 + x = 250

x = 150 m

therefore the length of the passenger train is 150 metres
