A surface is rubbed to make it smoother . What effect will this have on friction? Give reason.

This will reduce friction and if a object will try to walk on it ,it will be difficult to walk as the irregularities will be reduced and the interlocking between particles of the surface and object will be less hence it will slip over the surface
