Given-

Number of people involved in a survey =  1,600

80% of the people did not know the name of their representative in Congress.

To find-

The number of people did not know the name of the Congressman from 1600 people.

Solution-

Percentage means divide by 100.

By getting the 80% of 1600 we can find the number of people did not know the name of the Congressman name.

80% of the people did not know the name of their representative in Congress from 1600 people.

we can write it as,

80% of 1600= \frac{80}{100} \times 1600

80% of 1600= 80\times 16

80% of 1600= 1280

So,

We can say that

The number of people did not know the name of the Congressman from 1600 people is 1,280
