Recently, a survey was conducted at the school to know the various reasons for the under performance of some students at school.
The survey revealed many reasons for it and the collected data showed that fifteen percent of the student under performed due to lack of self motivation and dedication.
Another fifteen percent due to poor work habits and study skills, having problems with peers also affected the performance of twenty percent of the students. Emotional and behavioral problem was found out to be the major factor for their under performance.
Medical problems accounted for under performance for 17 percent of students and lack of persistence and discipline for 20 percent of the students.
The survey concluded that emotional and behavioral issues were the major problem for the under performance while poor study skill and lack of dedication and self motivation were the issues that least effected the students performance.
As it is evident from the survey that emotional and behavioral issue play a major role. It must be addressed by the parents and school authorities. If the student is having emotional issues it will affect the other aspects of his/her life that will ultimately affect his interest in studies. Lack of interest in studies will lead to under performance. So, if these two issues are sorted out it will significantly improve his/her performance.
