A table cost rs 400 more than the cost of a chair the cost of 3 tables and 5 chairs is 2800 find the cost of one table and chair

Let the cost of chair be x

cost of table = 400+x

3(400+x) + 5x = 2800

1200+3x + 5x = 2800

8x = 2800-1200

8x =1600

x = 1600/8

x = 200

Cost of chair = ₹ 200

cost of table = 400+200 = ₹ 600

Let the cost of a chair is Rs X.

Cost of a table = Rs ( X +400) .

According to question,

Cost of 5 chair + Cost of 3 tables = 2800

5X+ 3(X + 400) = 2800


5X + 3X + 1200 = 2800

8X = 2800-1200

8X = 1600

X = 1600/8

X = Rs 200

Cost of a chair = X = 200

And,

Cost of a table = X + 400 = 200+400 = Rs 600.
