A table cover of dimension 3m20cm by 2m40cm is spread on a table. If 20 cm of the table cover is hanging all around the table. Find the area of the table cover which is hanging outside the top of the table. Also, find the cost of polishing the table top at₹20 per square metre.

Width of table cover on the table = 240 - 40 that is 200 cm


Area of table cover that is hanging outside = area of table cover - area of table

=>(72000) - (52000)


=>20,000 cm^2


Area of table top = 52,000 cm^2 = 5.2 m^2


Cost of polishing tabletop per metre^2 = 20 rupees


Cost of polishing tabletop for 5.2 m^2 = 5.2 * 20 rupees
