The wholesale dealer gains 15% on selling to a retailer. The retailer sells the table and gains 25%.
If the retail price is $253, find the cost of production of the table.

Let Production cost  = $ X

Cost to wholesaler = X * 110/100 = 11X/10

Cost to retailer = 11X/10 * 115/100 = 11*115*X/1000

Profit to retailer = 25%

Selling price = $253

253 = 11*115*125*X/1000*100

X = 253*100000/11*115*125 = $160
