so, time taken by A is = x-6

1/x+1/x-6= 1/4

x-6+x/x²-6x=1/4

4(2x-6)= x²-6x

8x-24=x²-6x

x²-6x-8x+24=0

x²-14x+24=0

x²-(12+2)x+24=0

x²-12x-2x+24=0

x(x-12)-2(x-12)=0

(x-12) (x-2)=0

x=12,2
