a tank 30m long 20m wide and 12m deep is dug in a rectangular field of length 588m and breath 50m.the earth so dug is spread out evently on the remaining part of the field. find the height of the field raised by it.​

Given that, volume of the earth taken out

= 30 × 20 × 12 = 7200 m3

Area of the remaining portion (leaving the area of dug out portion)

= 470 × 30 + 30 × 10

= 14100 + 300 = 14400 m2

Let h be the height to which the field is raised by spreading the earth dug out

Then, 14400 × h = 7200

h = 720014400 = 0.5 m
