A tank fills completely in 2 hours if both the taps are open. If only one

of the taps is open at the given time, the smaller tap takes 3 hours

more than the larger one to fill the tank. How much time does each

tap take to fill the tank completely.

Step-by-step explanation:

Taps are A (small)and B(big)

Say the tank is 300lit capacity.

So A throws/gives water at

100 lit/hr

and together they fill

300 lit in 2 hr

or

150 lit/hr

So B discharges 150-100

=50 lit/hr.

B takes 300/50

=6 hr to fill tank......ANS

and

A takes 300/100

=3 hr to fill tank.....ANS

I guess my answer is wrong because I didn't take into count::::"smaller tap takes 3 hours more than the larger one...."
