A tank initially at rest is filled with water up to a height h

Kinetic energy at Rest = 0

Potential Energy = mgh

m = mass of water

Total energy = mgh

when water will be empty

Potential energy = 0   as m = 0 no water

Kinetic energy = (1/2)mv²  ( v = velocity of Tank)

Total energy = (1/2)mv²

as no frictional loss so

(1/2)mv² = mgh

=> v² = 2gh

=> v =√2gh
