Answer:

height of the tank = 4 m

Step-by-step explanation:

volume of a cylinder with radius, r and height h is given by the formula,

V = \pi r^2h cu.units  and we have 1m³ = 1000 ltr

given , V = 38500 ltr = 38500/1000 m³ = 38.5 m³

also, diameter = 3.5m

=> radius, r of the tank = 3.5/2 = 1.75 m

so, we can write, 38.5 m³ =  \frac{22}{7} * 1.75 * 1.75 * h    m³

                                \frac{77}{2} m³  = \frac{22}{7} * \frac{7}{4} * \frac{7}{4} * h  m³

                                  \frac{77}{2} = \frac{11}{1} * \frac{1}{2} * \frac{7}{4} * h

                                 h  = \frac{1}{11} * \frac{2}{1} * \frac{4}{7} *   \frac{77}{2}

                                 h  =  \frac{1}{1}*  \frac{2}{1} * \frac{4}{7} *   \frac{7}{2}

                                 h  =  \frac{1}{1}*  \frac{4}{7} *   \frac{7}{1}

                                 h  =   \frac{4}{1} *   \frac{1}{1} = 4m
