HERE AS THE MAGNESIUM BEING MORE REACTIVE THAN THE SILVER SO IT DISPACES SILVER FROM IT's POSITION.THE FOLLOWING IS THE REACTION :-
Ag₂S + Mg ⇒ MgS + Ag₂
Here as we can see that silver is being displaced so and formed MgS (Magnesium sulphide) and the silver gets deposit on the silver rod and the rod gains its lustre back.
