Answer:

Hey mate!

Here's your answer!!

Distance travelled = (1088-1052)km = 36 km

Time taken = 30 min = 0.5 hr

Speed = Distance / Time = 36/0.5 = 72 km/h.

Given :

▪ Initial reading of odometer = 1052km

▪ Final reading of odometer = 1088km

▪ Time interval = 30min = 1/2h

To Find :

▪ Average speed of the taxy.

Solution :

→ Average speed of body is defined as the ratio of total distance travelled to the total time taken.

→ It is a scalar quantity.

→ It has only magnitude.

→ Average speed can't be negative or zero.

Vav = (Rf - Ri)/Δt

  • Rf denotes final reading of odometer
  • Ri denotes initial reading of odometer

✒ Vav = (1088 - 1052)/0.5

✒ Vav = 36/0.5

Vav = 72kmph
