GivEn :-

• A tea merchant blends two varieties of tea in the ratio 5 : 4.

• The cost of first variety = Rs 200 per kg.

• cost of second variety = Rs 300 per Kg.

• He sells the blended tea at the rate of Rs 275 per kg.

To Find :-

Percentage of profit or loss

EXPLANATION-:

➠Let assume that the tea merchant blends two varieties of tea taking first variety 5x kg and second variety 4x kg.

Now,

The cost of first variety of tea = 200 × 5x = 1000x

➠And the cost of second variety of tea = 300 ×

4x = 1200x

➠Total quantity of the blended tea = 5x + 4x = 9x kg

➠S.P of the blended tea = 9x × 275 = 2475x

➠C.P = 2200x

Therefore,

Profit = 2475x - 2200x = 275x

The percentage of profit,

\implies \sf \: \dfrac{275x}{2200x} \times 100

\implies \boxed{ \pink{ \bold{ 12.5\%}}}
