a teacher want to distrubute 900 chocolate among the student of a class .each boy received 12 chocolate and each girl received 6 chocolate ifeach girl had been given 10 chocolates then each boy would have received 5 chocolate find no of studen in class​

let no of boys be x

girls be y

12x+6y=900

divide both side by 6

2x+y=150........(1)

if

5x+10y=900

divide both side by 5

x+2y=450........(2)

multiply equation (1) by 2

4x+2y=300.........(1a)

substract (1a) and (2)

3x=150

x=50

substitute in (1)

100+y=150

y=50

total girl is 50

boys 50

total 100 students

Girls=70

boys=40
