Step-by-step explanation:

length of the rod = 10 metres

we can easily find the length and breath by

10 ÷ 2 = 5

as told earlier length should be 1 metre more .

so , 5 + 1 = 6

and 5 - 1 = 4

this is the process by which we can easily find the difference between length and breath ..

The correct answer is length = 3m and breadth = 2m.

Given: Length of rod = 10 m.

To Find: Length and breadth of rectangle.

Solution:

According to statement: length should be 1 meter more than the breadth.

The equation: l = b+1.

Length of rod = perimeter of rectangle.

10 = 2(l+b)

5 = l+b

Put l=b+1 in this equation.

b+1+b = 5

2b = 4

b = 2

Put the value of b in l = b+1.

l = 2+1 = 3

Hence, the length of rectangle is 3m and the breadth is 2m.
