Solution:
Area of Bedroom1 = 5x
Area of bedroom 2 = 5x
Area of Kitchen = 5y
area of two bedrooms and Kitchen together is 95 sq. m
=> 5x + 5x + 5y = 95
=> 2x + y = 19
x + 2 +y = 15
=> x + y = 13
2x + y = 19
x + y = 13
=> x = 6 , y = 7
the length of the outer boundary of the layout = 2(( 5 + 2 + 5) + 15)
= 2(27)
= 54 m
.(iii) the area of each bedroom = 5x = 5(6) = 30 m²
area of kitchen = 5y = 5(7) = 35 m²
area of living room in the layout.
= Total area - area of 2 bedrooms - area of kitchen - area of bathroom
= 15 * 12 - 2(30) - 35 - 2*5
= 180 - 60 - 35 - 10
= 75 m²
cost of laying tiles in Kitchen at the rate of Rs. 50 per sq. m = 35 * 50
= 1750 Rs
