a thick wire is twisted several times. will it have a energy . why?

This is because when a wire is twisted work is done to twist it by the application of force.This work gets stored inside the wire in the form of potential energy which is released when the wire rewinds.

The answer of this question is " Yes" when the thick wire is twisted several time it will have the energy.
This is because the work which is done in twisting will be stored in the form of potential energy in the wire . This energy depend upon who many time wire is being twisted. When force is unloaded or you will leave the wire , the stored energy will rewind the wire and wire will the gain it's original position
