A thin copper wire of length L increases in length by 2% when heated from T1 to T2. If a copper cube having side 10L is heated from T1 to T2, What will be the percentage change in area of one face of the cube and volume of the cube.

Increase in the size of the side=2% of 10l +10l
New length=1/5l+10l
New length=10.2l
area of one face=104.04l^2
Volume=1061.208l^3
Percentage change of area of one face=4.04/100×100=4.04%
Percentage change in volume=61.208/1000×100=6.1%
