a thin rod of lenght L and mass M is bent at its midpoint into 2 halves so taht the angle between them is 90 . the moment og inertia of the bent rod about an axis passing through the bending point and perpendicular to the plane defined by the two halves of the rod is

1) ML2/24

2) ML2/12

by bending the rods two rods pf mass m/2 and length l/2 are formed

so moment of inertia about an axis at the point of bending and perpendicular to the plane is=

ML2/24+ML2/24=ML2/12

ML2/24, the moment of inertia of a rod of mass m and length l about an axis passing through one of its ends is given by ml2/3.

In this case m = M/2 and l = L/2.

Answer:

here angle does not affect only formula for end of rod i.e.(ML²/3)is mainly important add two MI of two same masses m/2 and two same length L/2
