A tin holds 16 1/2 liters of oil . how many such tins will be required to hold 313 1/2 liters of oil?

To find the answer, You just need to divide 313 1/2 (313.5) by 16 1/2 (16.5). The answer is 19 cans. To cross check, You can multiply 19 with 16 1/2 and get 313 1/2.

A tin holds 16 1/2 litres of oil.

in a tin  = 16.5litres of oil can be filled

so 1 litre oil can be filled in=1 / 16.5 tin

so 478.5 litres of oil can be filled in=1 / 16.5 * 478.5 =29  tins ( Ans)
