Answer:

A tissue of a tobacco plant infected with tmv can be used to obtain a new plant by using shoot apical meristem of the plant and the technique that can be used for such growth is plant tissue culture.

A shoot apical meristem is a region where differentiation of the cells does not takes place. A tobacco mosaic virus generally colonize and proliferate in actively dividing and differentiating host cells. Therefore, virus does not colonize at the shoot apical meristem region and can be used to grow new plant by tissue culture. Plant tissue culture is a technique which utilizes the ability of the plant cells to differentiate into more no of cells, then form structure and lastly develop a new plant, which is called as totipotency. Plant tissue culture method uses artificial growth medium containing hormones, nutrients necessary for the development of new plant from few cells or tissues.
